Río Serrano

The hotel gets its name after the sinuous Serrano River, which is born in the waters of Toro Lake and flows into Ultima Esperanza Sine. Its unique location, in front of Torres del Paine and surrounded by an astonishing nature, gives the perfect amalgam of design, quality and comfort, in harmony with fragile ecosystem. Milodon Cave

Huge natural accident of 200 mts. line, 30 high and 80 wide, located 25 kilometers north of the city of Puerto Natales. The Milodon Cave is one of the ancient attractions of the place that no one can miss. Anthropological value, it is believed that this cave was the natural habitat of early patagonian man and the Milodon, an animal extinct herbivore that lived until the end of the ice age and that gives rise to the name of this amazing natural accident. The landscape also is complemented by a wide range of regional flora and fauna.

 

Cumbres del Martial – Villa de Montaña

The Hotel Cumbres Del Martial is placed at the bottom of the imposing Martial Glaciar in the Hotels Reserved Area of Ushuaia, 7 km away from downtown.

The Hotel is right in the middle of the Natural “Fueguino” Forest and at the side of the river “Buena Esperanza”, with a unique view of the Beagle Channel.

Our Hotel has two different kind of rooms: 6 standard rooms, with king sized beds, separated bath room and toilettes room, Security Box, Satelite TV, and private balcony with view to the Beagle Channel. Villavicencio

Our north leads to Plumerillos, historically mute witness of San Martín’s deeds. Farther ahead, at the Pre-Andean Mountain Range, Canota Monument, the mineral water bottling plant as well as Villavicencio Hotel and its green gardens are observed. Afterwards, the tour continues towards “Caracoles” Road and its 365 curves.

Balmaceda & Serrano Glaciars and River Rising

The catamaran begins browsing the Señoret Channel, heading NW towards Mount Balmaceda while enjoying breakfast on board. Our first point of interest is the National Historic Monument Refrigerator Complex Bories, this refrigerator was founded in 1913 by the Tierra del Fuego Sheep Farming and over 60 years was the most important center of slaughtering the area. Its masonry buildings, industrial architecture post Victorian English style.

Entering the Señoret Channel, we sail across Guanaco Island where there are small and wonderful Comersoni Dolphins.

Then access through the ranch Margot Cormorants the wall, displaying large number of these birds fanning their wings spread to the wind. Continuing the trip to Punta de Lobos where we found some copies of said mammal, then got to visit the waterfall and cliffs where you can see condors. At each point of interest the boat will stop for passengers to enjoy the scenery and attractive.

Then access through the Margot Cattle ranch we will observe a cormorants colony on a wall, displaying large number of these birds fanning their wings spread to the wind. The sailing continues to the Balmaceda Mount (2035 meters above sea level) where we see first the glacier of the same name and then disembark at Toro Port to begin one hour round trip and forth along the shore of Lake Icebergs, always accompanied by our bilingual guide. Through coigües native forest, and ciruelillos ñirres, toward the Serrano Glacier, here enjoy the impressive vegetation and the contrast between the clear skies and sea ice, accompanied by impressive Serrano glacier.

Upon returning from the walk we expect the guide to semi-rigid boats to deliver the safety, path information will continue, presenting thermal-floating suits to be delivered to each passenger, which are the perfect complement to an outdoor adventure in Patagonia.

We started up the Serrano River, about 40 kms. long that unites the Torres del Paine whit the fjord. This is fed by the melting glaciers Grey, Tyndall, Geike, and Balmaceda. The boats have comfortable individual seats.

During navigation we stop to enjoy a privileged view of the Tyndall Glacier is part of the southern ice field.

Then we arrive to the fall sector, where we make a walk of about 15 minutes to change inflatable boat and continue the tour. In the middle of the walk we can stop at the viewpoint Donoso Hill and observe the flow of water in the diving industry.

Once we embarked and continued our voyage, we arrived at our end point, the Chaiten Port in Serrano sector, where we enjoy a deliciuos lunch tipical barbacue area which is a few meters from the point of arrival.

 

Gable Island and Penguin Rookery (with or without canoeing)

This full-day excursion takes 16 passengers for a ride, to navigate, to walk and to make discoveries in one of the roughest and most beautiful places in the Beagle Channel.

Once we arrive to Lasiphashaj river, and wearing rubber boots, overpants and life-jackets provided by us, the group starts a canoeing adventure down the river that leads into the sea. Once canoeing on the Beagle Channel, we set course to the ranch. Along the way we may encounter wildlife: lots of different sea birds. Also, it is not unusual to find sea lions sunbathing in little islands in our way to Harberton port.

After 2 hours on the rafts and a short stop on terra firma, we leave on a motor boat towards Martillo Island, where we’ll have the chance to see penguins in their breeding lair. Then the motor boat take us to our main atraccion at Gable Island, where we have some snacks, good wine and a delicious meal.

After a nice cup of cofee were go for a hike to know more of this gorgeous island, crossing over beaver damms and through the forest to reach the Beagle Channel shore where we’ll take the boat to start our return to Ushuaia.

 

Tierra del Fuego National Park

t is located 11 km away from the city. We will be able to appreciate lakes, lagoons and rivers within its limits, and their exit towards Beagle Channel, characteristic that makes the difference with the other national parks of our country.

Departing from the Maipu Avenue towards the southwest by the national route nro. 3, we will drive out of the city passing by the slope of the Susana Mount, witness of the work of the prisoners of the old prison, where now the Southern Fuegian Railway is located. Here we will stop for this optional tour.

Continuing through the valley to the deviation that take us to the Ensenada Bay, where we will be able to contemplate the Redonda and Estorbo Islands and on the other coast of the Channel of Beagle, the snow-white Mountains of the Sampaio Chain (Chile). Back again on the national route #3 with the fuegian forest and its flora close to the road we will go to the Roca Lake to do a long walk by the lake coast and by the Lapataia river, originated in the lake. From this point we can see the Cóndor Hill natural border with Chile.

We will go towards the other end of the Park, where finalizes the route nro. 3 at Lapataia Bay, on the way to the mentioned bay we will observe the Green Lagoon and the Black Lagoon, large growing peat bog. Finally we will pass by the beaver dams, whose footpath will lead to Lapataia Bay.

Lagos Off Road

Lakes Off-Road is our amusing, intense and friendly way to discover the secrets hidden behind the Southern Andes Range. Far away from the routine of the conventional excursions, it is just the right thing to do for any kind of traveler. Have a relaxing day, traveling and having fun in a trip with some serious off-road experiences! From above the Andes, we’ll get a view of Lago Escondido (Hidden Lake), a little wonder that hides at the bottom of a valley. Afterwards, the enormous Lake Fagnano, impressive and great, we’ll be the main attraction.

Fun and enjoyment never depend on the weather: in our Land Rover Defender we will go through the forest and across rivers defying muddy tracks, and by the shore of lake with unique views. The guide’s congeniality, the barbecue and the Argentine Malbec shared with travelers from all over the world certainly will be worthy to be remembered. On top of all these sensations, from our refuge you’ll see views of Lake Fagnano reserved for just a few. This adventure is accessible to anyone who whishes to have fun and break free from all limitations by getting to know in deep a forest beyond words.

 

City of Paramillos

Trekking mining: we visit the old buildings of the mining town, knowing its history and legends. Then we start a walk through the galleries of the average “Sauce” of the mine, where you can see streaks of various minerals and elements used in farm work.
