Big Circuit

Duration: full day

 

You leave our office northwards along National Route 237, cross the outlet of Nahuel Huapi Lake and the spring of Limay river, geographical limit between the provinces of Río Negro and Neuquén. Following Limay river, you pass by the Amphitheater and then go on towards the Valle Encantado (enchanted valley) and Confluencia Traful, a region of transition between the Patagonian steppe and the Patagonian Andean forest. Leaving behind Route 237, you take Provincial Route 65 west, towards Villa Traful bordering Traful river until you reach a natural balcony overlooking Traful Lake. The road continues bordering the lake, passes through Villa Traful and head towards Arrayanes Port. From there you go on up, through a shady forest, to El Portezuelo (940 m a.s.l.) where you meet the Seven Lakes Road going southwards and you border lakes Correntoso, Bailey Willis, and Espejo. Finally you take along National Route 231 towards Villa La Angostura. From here, there is an optional sail to Arrayanes Wood. When we continue our ride, we will reach Nahuel Huapi Lake once again and take National Route 237 that leads back to Bariloche.

Lunch, National Park fee and optional sail to Arrayanes wood are not included.

 

Ancud & Puñihuil penguins colonies

We begin the tour in our way to Pargua, here we will aboard a ferry to sail through the Chacao Channel, this channel separates the continent of Chiloe Island. During the navigation we see sea wolves, pelicans and sea birds autochthon in this area.

 

The ferry berths at Chacao pier, here we see the houses that are built with Alerce wood, and the churches that are National Heritage Site, we are going to visit Caulín beach, a place very famous for the oysters an a rich marine fauna until finally gets to Ancud City.

 

In this city we can see the San Antonio Fort; this historic place is located in the highest part of the city, built at the latest part of XVIII Century and is part of one of the last Spanish fortifications in our country, the Local Museum and the Mains Square, and the Central Market, this one offers many gastronomic options of the island.

 

Later we will go to Puñihuil beach; there we get a boat, that will take us to a small island where we find the Magallanes Penguin and Humboldt Penguin, this is the place where this two species make their nests , an during generations they have coexisted together, making this islands the only place in the world where this happen.

 

The tour guide will explain to us the way of life of these birds, the surroundings and the abundance of food that makes possible that these islands become a wild paradise. It’s important to say that Puñihuil was declared National Heritage for its ecological relevance.

 

The place for lunch (not included) will be coordinated with the tour guide depending on time and logistic of the tour, also the passenger have to pay the boat ticket to go to Puñihuil small island.

Punta del Este FD

Early morning we will depart to Punta del Este, the beach resort chosen by South America”s Elite. We will make a stop in Piriápolis, where we will enjoy the lovely “Rambla” along the coast and go up the “San Antonio Hill” from where we will have the chance to take some pictures of the incredible view. This European style summer resort was founded by the visionary Francisco Piria during the last century. We will then continue our trip to the famous “Casapueblo” in Punta Ballena (Not included – entrance: USD 8 per preson), our last stop before reaching Punta Del Este, where we will visit the Museum of Carlos Páez Vilaró, Uruguayan painter and creator of Casapueblo. We will then continue our trip to Punta Del Este enjoying a breathtaking view of beaches and surroundings. Drive along the Mansa Beach of Punta del Este to visit the residential suburbs of Beverly Hills, El Golf, Cantegril, San Rafael with its spectacular mansions and summer houses of diverse modern architecture. Then we’ll continue to La Barra de Maldonado which gathers many colorful restaurants close to the beach. Return driving along the Brava Beach, to reach the Yacht Port and entering the city center called la Peninsula. After having lunch, we’ll have some time at leisure to enjoy the shopping and craft market. At appropiate time, return direct to Montevideo.

Villa La Angostura and Arrayanes Forest (optional)

Starts in Bariloche on route 231 along the arm Huemul. Incomparable views lead us to Villa la Angostura. Free Time for lunch. Shipping and navigation to Quetrihue Peninsula, where we visit the Arrayanes Forest. Return of the boat to the town. Exit back to Bariloche.

 

Excursion to the Arrayanes Forest

The catamaran sails from Port of Villa La Angostura to Arrayanes Forest, located in the extreme southwest of the peninsula Quetrihué. Due to the characteristics of this area, north of Lake Nahuel Huapi, navigation is extremely quiet and let us enjoy the wonderful surroundings that gives the bays of the Villa (Balsas, Cumelén and Manzano) and the frame of the Andes.

After 45 minutes of sailing, we arrived at the Arrayanes Forest, unique in the world by the purity of their samples up to 400 years, with a height of 25 m. and a diameter of 1 m. approximately, and its incomparable and irresistible cinnamon bark color and cold to the touch.

It´s a gift If they where flourished. it´s magical watch growing orchids, on the little trunks on the soil.

As the tour operates all year round, you can also enjoy the Forest on days where the snow is present, offering a contrast of colors unmatched.

You´ll walk the forest trails with our professional guides, who, above all things, prioritize the care and respect for nature to preserve our National Park. Also they will tell us interesting anecdotes and stories about the area.

At the end of the tour, you can visit the Forest Tea House, a picturesque house builded on 1933, which invites us to enjoy something hot and rich. and why not, take a souvenir of the place.

Without doubt, back to Villa La Angostura, you will be filled of magic, mysteries and beauty of this heavenly place ready for your exclusive enjoyment.

Antillanca Ski Center & Mountain

We begin our tour passing by Frutillar, Puerto Octay, and then we’ll go through Rupanco Ranch and Entre Lagos village, until we get to Puyehue National Park, where we star to ascent over 1000 mts arriving to Antillanca Ski Center & Mountain at the base of Casablanca Volcano.

 

Time to behold a marvelous landscape with an overview of the volcanoes and Andes Mountain, or take a Trekking or Horseback riding trails in the mountain. Also you will have the chance to have a delicious lunch at the local restaurant with the typical mountain cuisine.

 

Santa Cruz Cruise Ship

The most exclusive navigation on the “Argentinian Lake” (Lago Argentino)

The Spirit of the Glaciers is an ideal program for those who are willing to discover remote corners of our land, while enjoying all the comfort that world travelers seek.

Life on board our Cruise will be the highlight of the day. A selected group will share the wonderful experience of sailing on Lago Argentino, in search of the “Spirit of the Glaciers”.

From the quiet and warm inside it is possible to bask in the harmony of nature at its best.

 

Day 1. Embark: Tue-Fri Transfer from El Calafate to Puerto Puerto Privado La Soledad, Bahía Tranquila (Paraje Punta Bandera) at 7:30 pm. Check in will be on board, the crew is introduced and an informative talk is given as well as a welcome drink. We will navigate to Bahia Alemana, dinner and overnight.

 

Day 2. After a delicious breakfast, the craft will start its navigation, heading north across Brazo Norte. The first icebergs to appear will indicate the closeness to Upsala Glacier, one of the largest in the National Park. After lunch, the cruise will sail across Canal Spegazzini to Puesto Las Vacas where the passengers will disembark to enjoy a long rest or an interesting hike. Once again on board our new target is Bahía Toro, at Seno Mayo where we will pass our second night.

 

Day 3. At 9 a.m. the cruise will depart heading south. We will land again, to Visit Mayo and Black Glaciers. Later we will navigate towards Perito Moreno Glacier, through Canal de los Témpanos. Our itinerary ends at Puerto Privado La Soledad, Bahía Tranquila, Paraje Punta Banderas. At 4 pm we will be landing and transferring the passengers back to El Calafate.

Rio Negro Hornopiren – Austral Road

Sea side circuit, from km Zero of the Austral Road, take us to the Reloncaví Fjords, where we will navigate about 30 minutes from Caleta La Arena to Puelche Beach, to get to a place of rivers, channels, Waterfalls, hot springs and Naturals Parks.

 

Picturesque places of handcraft and fishermen, where you’ll see how the vegetation grows along the wind shape.

 

Hiking base of Towers

This tour aims to provide a service that is known for its personalized attention considering it is not massive, with a minimum of 2 passengers and maximum groups of 8 people per vehicle with bilingual guide , service and insurance board seat.

Departure from your hotel at 07:30 PM. Approximately , after traveling about two hours to reach Estancia Cerro Paine , starting point or the trailhead to begin our Hiking , prior instructive talk by our guide, we take the road towards the valley , after 10 minutes of walking, we cross an old suspension bridge that crosses the river Ascencio , and about 150 meters ahead , a fork : to the left leads to the Base Las Torres. Then follows a zig -zag of steep slope and low vegetation about an hour out here. It rises again and passed along to other side after 45 minutes from the end of the Chilean zigzag Camping is reached on the opposite bank of the Rio Ascencio , in the shade of a beech forest with a moderate slope, crossing several aspects falling from the Almirante Nieto. After about an hour and ten minutes from the Chilean site , 700 m. we reach the foot of the moraine that gives access to the lookout and from this point the trail climbs more steeply . First goes along a slope and shaded models small trees located at the edge of the moraine, but above the trail loses itself and we shall continue climbing the rocks , some of which are marked to show the route. After about a half an hour from the Cartel to 700 meters, the east end of the lake is reached, from where you have a wonderful view of the three towers (Central, Monzino , Agostini D ) and Mountains Peineta and then Condors Nest . After resting and having lunch in this extraordinary and unique scenic backdrop on the planet , we begin our return along the same path until you reach the point where our vehicle will be waiting to take us to Puerto Natales at sunset.

You should bring : Sunscreen , gloves, hat , cover pants for water, hiking shoes (not new ) , insect repellents , batons , small backpack, bottle plastic or metal water (water from streams is drinkable ) Goretex parka.

 

Antártica & Shetland Islands from the South

Expedition Cruise to the Antarctic Peninsula and South Shetland Islands aboard the Ushuaia.

 

Day 1: Depart from Ushuaia

Shipping afternoon. After you have settled into your cabins we sail along the famous Beagle Channel through passage Mackinlay .

 

Days 2 and 3: Crossing the Drake Passage

Named after the renowned explorer Sir Francis Drake , who sailed these waters in 1578 , the Drake Passage also marks the Antarctic Convergence , a biological barrier where cold polar water sinks beneath the warmer northern waters.

As we sail across the passage, our staff will be out with you on deck to help in the identification of an amazing variety of seabirds, including many albatrosses, which follow our boat. We can learn some aspects about navigation , watch for whales, and enjoy the view .

The first sightings of icebergs and snow-capped mountains indicate that we have reached the South Shetland Islands , an archipelago of 20 islands and islets first sighted in 1819 by Capt. William Smith of the brig Williams. At our lecturers and naturalists will accompany the first landing and experience the encounter with the penguins and seals.

 

Days 4 to 8 : Discovering the Antarctic Peninsula and South Shetland Islands

The South Shetland Islands are full of wildlife. Penguin rookeries, beaches Antarctic fur seals and southern elephant seals make every day spent in this amazing island group unforgettable.

King George Island is the largest island of the South Shetland Islands and features colonies of Adélie Penguins and other colonies. Is home to scientific bases of many different countries.

We hope to navigate some of the most beautiful waterways depending on ice conditions : the Gerlache Strait , the Neumayer Channel, and the Lemaire Channel are narrow passages between towering rock faces and spectacular glaciers. We plan to make at least two landings per day.

 

The landing sites may also include:

Paradise Bay, literally named the best place in the world , and we attempt a landing on the continent.

Further exploration may take you to Melchior Island , Cuverville Island , Portal Point, Neko Harbour, Pléneau Island and if ice conditions permit, to Petermann Island to visit the southernmost colony of Papua Penguins .

 

Days 9 and 10: Crossing the Drake Passage

We leave Antarctica and head north , crossing the Drake Passage. Take time to relax and reflect on the fascinating adventures of the past days on the way back to Ushuaia.

 

Day 11 : Arrival at Ushuaia

We arrived in Ushuaia in the early morning , where disembark after breakfast.
