Manso River Valley MTB Tour – Full Day

Manso River Valley MTB single-track is the Top Nº1 guided bike Tour in Bariloche area within Nahuel Huapi National Park. During the day, you can expect great mountain sceneries, crossing hanging bridges, fun rides through the forest & wide prairies, casual encounters with local people and the major attraction is the impressive emerald colors of Manso River.

ITINERARY:

After picking up the bikers at their hotels, we start our adventure driving south, along the shores of the lakes Gutiérrez, Mascardi and Guillelmo. Then, we head west along a gravel road up to the first bridge over the Manso River, whose crystal clear waters with green and blue shades (Lower Manso) flow towards the Pacific. (1 1/2 Hs drive/35 miles-55 km from Bariloche) There, after preparing our mountain bikes, we pedal over the hanging bridge and start our ride across the Manso valley along the right shore of the river. Across the local’s fields, we view the neighboring mountains, such as the Mounts Bastión and Ventisqueros. The river is always on our left, making fun turns, as we cycle across streams and over small bridges to discover the wild Patagonia with its spectacular waterfalls, solitary prairies and a myriad of flora. Halfway through our trip, we enjoy a homemade picnic on the river shore. After a short break, we follow a relatively flat single track until we reach the last stage of the trip, where it becomes steeper and rougher. Again, we bicycle down towards the second hanging bridge across the Manso River, where the impressive emerald waters, its rapids and a magnificent sandy beach make it the ideal setting to relax and start our way back to the city of Bariloche.

This section of river is beautiful and challenging. The canyon is covered with lush vegetation and has the best whitewater in the region. Velvet Box, Ozone Hole, Shout and Turn, Little Toboggan are some of the rapids we hit before continuing on more rapids like Deep Throat,

Extasis, Scrambled Egg, Eye Tooth and finally International. At the Chilean Border, we leave the river behind and make our way up a short, steep trail to change clothes, load up all the gear, and prepare for purchase something for lunch. Afterwards, we return to Bariloche.

When we arrive at the John´s, we will be surprised not only by the hospitality of the family but by the unequalled beauty of their authentic Patagonian ranch. More than 50 years of work are reflected in the picturesque house,

the warehouses, and their beautiful garden with flowers and trees, all of this surrounded by an unobscured view of Mt. Bastion.

Adventure & Wines

It is with the very same enthusiasm with which we created and shaped so many private tours under this concept that we launch this new activity: an affordable option that combines Unique Natural Scenarios, Trekking, Rappelling, Great Meal, Mini-concerts and Adventure Kayaking.

An exclusive vehicle will pick up the guests at the Down Town Hotel at 10:00 AM and at the Llao Llao Hotel at 10:40 AM to go to Llao Llao Municipal Park. [35 minutes from downtown / 5 minutes from Llao Llao Hotel] A simple 40 minute walk will take us to the natural balconies at the Brazo Tristeza, from where we will enjoy a magnificent view over the nearby mountains. We access another balcony after a short ascent aided by a fixed rope. There we will rejoice with the beauty of the Cerro Tronador and its 7 glaciers. Those who dare to go a little further can join us and make a rappel descent down of 40 meters to the base of the wall where our Chef will offer various Patagonian wines and flavors for you to taste. In the afternoon, after going back to the starting point, we will tour around the beaches of Moreno Lake aboard Double Adventure Kayaks, experiencing the feeling of navigating without an engine through one of the lakes in the area. Our gear protects us from the water and helps us to fully enjoy the trip. Once back on shore, we leave the kayaks behind and drive back to the Hotel.

Different Bariloche

This tour is available only in the afternoon and nature will be the main attraction. We recommend this tour for the arrival day, because of its short duration and its easy access that makes it possible to get a broad look at Bariloche, its surroundings, lakes and history.

The aim of this activity is to enjoy, first-hand, one of the main attractions in the region: The woodland.

The Activities

Our private transportation will pick up passengers to tour around Bariloche’s best kept secret spots. We walk for about 40 minutes on even terrain, very low intensity activity, with one of our guides-interpreters, hearing the sounds of the forest, such as the trill of the chucao or the regular pecking of some woodpecker and tasting some of the herbs that grow in the place. We drive into downtown where passengers will have the choice of either staying there to shop around on their own, or be taken back to the hotel, to bring the activity to a closure.

Trekking Castaño Overo

A trekking out of the traditional area of Pampa Linda, next to Tronador Mountain. A natural spot, one of the most incredibles places in Patagonia.

We start picking up the passengers at 8:00 AM from the hotels to get to Pampa Linda, two hours away from Bariloche.

Once in Pampa Linda, and after a brief talk with our mountain guides, we begin the trek of about 2 ½ hours until the base of the glacier Castaño Overo, a hanging glacier, which gives us the possibility to see waterfalls and even some pieces of ice falling.

In this place we will have an uncomparable Picnic lunch and some free time to enjoy the magnificent view of the place, and take some photos too!!

After one hour and a half we start our way back to Pampa Linda, to get in to our vehicles and get back to our hotel, in Bariloche.

Adventure Kayaking

Kayaking allows us to reach the most remote and virgin areas in nature, experiencing the Andes from another angle to explore new sensations. We meet at the hotel between 9:30 am and 10:00 am. We have two different places to start our activity, depending on the weather conditions. [Lopez Bay and Camping Petunia]Once we arrive to the starting point, we will have our safety and security talk and go into the details of the activity. We will sail down the water of lakes Nahuel Huapi discovering its shores and crystal clear water. After 2 or 3 hours of gentle paddling we will return to the starting point.

We get into our vehicle and return to the hotel.
