The Catena Zapata family, with 3 generations dedicated to Viniculture, has succeeded throughout its history positioning itself among the best. He has received repeated scores +90 in the evaluations of Robert Parker and Stephen Tanzer standing out in the most prestigious markets of the great wines of the world. In this excursion we will visit this well-known winery and two wineries more linked to the Catena Zapata Family: The winery Bodega Caro and Winery The Enemy. BODEGAS CARO: It was born from a partnership between Domaines Barons de Rotschild (Lafite) and the Catena family. The Catena family contributed their knowledge of terroirs in height of Mendoza and their passion for the strain Malbec to find the best vineyards. Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) contributed more than a hundred years of management of Cabernet Sauvignon and the art of producing great wines by assembling strains. Bodegas CARO has a completely renovated wine cellar dating from the late 1800s and welcomes the wines from 2003.
WAREHOUSE THE ENEMY: Alejandro Vigil was recruited by Nicolás Catena to lead the research team of the winery. He has been Head Winemaker of Bodega Catena Zapata for the last 13 years. Bodega El Enemigo is the personal project of Alejandro Vigil, who welcomes us in Casa El Enemigo and shows us his land and winery. Here we will have lunch. Alejandro has the highest rating ever given to a pure Cabernet Franc wine by Robert Parker The Wine Advocate, awarded to The Great Enemy Cabernet Franc of Gualtallary, Mendoza.

BIKE POR LOS VIÑEDOS

Departure in the morning to the Zuccardi Winery, to leave from the gardens of Casa del Visitor with the bicycle tour, which lasts approximately one hour. They will be made in three stops: Chardonnay, Syrah and Malbec. In each one there are tastings where the guide explains the characteristics of the varieties and the systems of irrigation and conduction of the vine. We will make a visit to the winery, where we will explain the winemaking process. We will have a regional lunch that includes empanadas, selection of meats and grilled vegetables and dessert.

CABALGATA POR LOS VIÑEDOS

Departure in the morning to the Nieto Senetiner Winery, then begin the horseback tour of the Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah vineyards of Finca Villa Blanca located in Vistalba and surroundings. Ascend to Cerro Melón with beautiful views of the Vistalba Valley and the Andes Mountains. Upon returning, you will visit the winery and wine tasting. Regional lunch of 4 steps maried with 4 wines. After lunch we will go to another winery in the area: Cap Vistalba, the visit and the tasting of its wines. In conclusion we will undertake the return

LA RUTA DEL ESPUMANTE

This tour proposes to know the history of the elaboration of the sparkling wines and their different techniques touring 3 important establishments.

BODEGA CRUZAT Only for the production of premium sparkling wines, made using the traditional method or “champenoise” (second fermentation in the bottle). Founded in 2004 by a group of Chilean entrepreneurs and the Engineer Agronomist and Winemaker Pedro F. Rosell. This boutique winery opens its doors to the most curious: bottles with yeast, desks, degüelle machine and the area of ??manual labeling. Everything is in sight of the tourist to know and participate in the process.

BODEGA DANTE ROBINO is a family winery with more than 90 years of experience dedicated to the production of medium and high-end wines. It owns one of the main champagneras of Argentina and is the second exporter of sparkling wines of the country. He elaborates them with Charmat and Champenoise methods.

BODEGA LAGARDE is a family winery producing high-end wines. Through its wines it transmits the harmonic balance between the past and innovation. It has a champagne with capacity for 10,000 bottles of high-end sparkling wine. Produces 3 lines of sparkling wines with Charmat and Champenoise methods. Lagarde will offer us lunch in the Restaurant Entre Fuegos, a menu with option of: two, three or five steps, maried with sparkling wine.

SABOREANDO CHACHINGO

Private trips from Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. In this excursion we will visit the productive area of ??Maipú called Chachingo. Chachingo is about 30 kilometers from the capital city, between the left bank of the Mendoza river and the city of Chachingo, which is located on the hill of Chachingo. It is the phrase used by any Mendoza to refer to a very distant place. Street Videla Aranda, between the districts of Rodeo del Medio and Cruz de Piedra, where we will be able to observe numerous farms and some weekend houses .In the morning we will visit LAUR Founded in 1906, Laur was a pioneer in the implantation of olive groves in the province Of Mendoza as well as in the elaboration of olive oil.We will know the secrets of elaboration, its history and we will taste its products: olive oil and balsamic aceto.

Later we will visit QUALTAYE who elaborate fine flavored cheese of type fynbo and Sardinian. Their owners will show us the process of manufacture without preservatives and we will taste their cheeses.

Finally we will visit CASA EL ENEMIGO by the hand of Alejandro Vigil, current and famous oenologist of the winery Catena Zapata. Now with his personal project, he shows us his land and wine cellar “El Enemigo”, which has received multiple awards. We will have lunch tasting their wines. Close to 16:00 hs. We will be back in the city of Mendoza.

Horse Riding Winery Tour

This is a full day excursion in which we will visit two farms, riding between vineyards and introduce ourselves in wine making process and taste its varieties. Such excursion finishes with a “delicious barbecue” and a “great mendocienan wine”.

The excursion includes transfer / ride/ specialized guide/ visit to 2 wineries/ lunch.

Cooking Class and Wine Sensory Analysis

We will try wines whose quality we will appreciate subjecting it to our senses : sight, taste , smell and touch. It is meet and compare , as well as describe and prosecute.

We arrived at the place of our visit, Bodega Familia Zuccardi , Altus Winery in Valle de Uco, or Postales del Plata in Mendoza , there will participate in a class of Introduction to Sensory Analysis of Wines , guided by a specialist.

 

Then we head to a local restaurant , where we will participate in the cooking class , and we develop our own course guided by a true gourmet . The chef will teach participants a couple of hours crafting some of the regional cuisine and each person will have a place to work and all necessary materials.

In this beautiful setting, enjoy the prepared menu, accompanied by house wines . At the end we take the pleasure to have met some of the secrets of Argentinian wine and cuisine.

 

Full day wine experience

Enjoy the pleasure of visiting one of the best oenological areas in Argentina. Accompany us to discover its terroir guided by experts. The tourist may have the opportunity to taste different wines and visiting vineyards to understand the culture of this region.

Our day: Early in the morning we will meet the oenologist who will accompany us throughout the tour. We will depart to Mendoza’s agricultural oasis and visit two wineries, of wine’s circuit; there we will enjoy a wine tasting session.

At noon we will have lunch, during which we will begin to familiarize ourselves with the local’s wines, and its elaboration process.

After that we will participate in an introductory lecture, in which our oenologist will explain us the technique of wine tasting, wine production techniques, the importance of the cork in the bottle and the correct way to handle a glass in order to taste wine.

In the evening we will visit other winery and enjoy a wine tasting session.
