EXCURSION VUELTA AL LAGO LLANQUIHUE Y VOLCAN OSORNO

We start our trip visiting the Llanquihue city, famous for its sausages, and it is where Maullin River begins, and this area is part of the ancient Route of Settlers. We will continue along the Llanquihue Lake to the Frutillar city. This city is a beautiful village that recalls the old Bavaria, from there were the rst settlers who arrived to this area. The city started in 1856 as a boarding pier, soon appeared tanneries, mills, breweries, etc. We will walk around its beautiful old houses of German style, admiring the gardens and incomparable views of the Osorno and Puntiagudo volcanoes. As an option, passengers can go to the German Colonial Museum which portrays the life of the settlers, and at the lake shore, observe the Teatro del Lago (Lake Theatre) here each year is presented the famous Frutillar Musical Week, this is a Summer Festival, presents classic music from Chile and abroad that oer each year, approximately 40 concerts. From here we will go to Puerto Octay city, also located by the north shore of the lake, with a strong German inuence it was the most important gateway to the agricultural products to Osorno city. We will see the ancient streets and the Main Square. We continue visiting “Villa la Cascada” located at the base of the Osorno volcano, surrounded by natives trees and a beach of ne sand, when we get to Ensenada, we start to ascend to the ski center and Osorno Volcano Mountain, located at 1.240 meters altitude.There we will stay about an hour, will be time for sightseeing, take pictures, and appreciate a unique view to the summit of the volcano with glaciers of eternal snow, the Calbuco volcano, Llanquihe Lake and the Pacic Ocean. As an option passengers can take a cup of coee or a sandwich at the coee shop of the place or take the lift to ascend to 1450 meters altitude in the Primavera Station (Spring) or 1750 meters at Glaciar Station (Glacier) where there is a wonderful and breathtaking views of Llanquihue Lake.

EXCURSION FRUTILLAR Y PUERTO OCTAY

EXCURSION VALDIVIA

Valdivia delights their visitants with a particular beauty, native surroundings and a special history that gives to this fluvial city a strong personality on its own. The city was founded for Pedro de Valdivia, he did it on the year 1522 and from that moment was a thriving, with notable historical events place. The first stop is the Arturo Prat Avenue or river side road, main pedestrian promenade along the Calle Calle River, where the River Market, jet boat excursion and shipyards impact the visitors, also a visit for the typical fair, where fresh seafood are oered, fruits and vegetables of the islands. Across the river we see the buildings and Historical Museum of Contemporary Art. After visiting the market we go to General Lagos Av, the oldest neighborhood of the city, where we will see the Canelo Tower, a sort of lookout post used by the Spanish in colonial times to protect the people from the natives and pirates. Returning to the downtown area, we see the San Francisco church and the Republic Main Square, appreciating the details of their gardens and gazebo, the Government House and the cathedral. Then we cross the Pedro de Valdivia Bridge towards the Teja Island, we depart from the city to follow the river side road to Niebla and Los Molinos beach crossing bridges, docks and the area where the Cruces river meets Calle Calle river to form the Valdivia river, meeting the horizon of the Pacific ocean in all it`s splendor: a magnicent view. Niebla Castle, situated in a strategic place facing the sea, has left traces that marked the Valdivia city History, during the events of the XVII century, when it was established the defense system there. At the museum, showcases shares (documents, ages, clothes) that expose the ambitions of the pirates. Outside, stone walls built of cancagua and cannons made in the Motherland (Spain) are silent representatives of the historical past.

EXCURSION PUCON

We begin our tour heading to the Pan American Highway that will take us to the Pucon city, located 310 km north of Puerto Varas city, and located on the eastern shore of Villarrica Lake. We continue our journey to the Pucon city, very close to volcanoes, lakes, rivers, parks and hotsprings waters, a privileged natural environment that allows tourism all year round. The predominant architecture is mountain-style, with influences of German settlers who arrived in Chile in the XIX century and the traditions of the Mapuche, which can be seen from the architecture to a variety of attractions available. The town is small, so enjoy a relaxing stroll along the Big Beach Villarrica Lake or formerly called Mallolafquen (Lake of white clay), Pucon Hotel, main square, Santa Cruz Church and craft centers to continue to La Poza pier, typical wooden towers, Mapuche Museum (People of the earth) and the Cloistered nuns monastery where we will have a panoramic view of the city ideal to take pictures. The Villarrica volcano always is on sight; very close of the city. The conic form always shows on top a fumarole that does not alteres the lives of the population.

EXCURSION FIORDO DE RELONCAVI

We begin our tour from Puerto Montt city to Caleta La Arena, a fishermen’s village passing by the sea shore of Pacific Ocean, this road is part of the Austral road. During the trip we pass by many villages such as Piedra Azul, famous for the seaweed extraction Gracilarias Chilensis which is exported to Japan, Quillaipe; a lovely sea coast village with an exuberant Native vegetation, there are small farms dedicated to agriculture, and Metri, where is possible to catch seafood or to sh Rollizo, Robalo and Salmon. We get to La Arena Beach to aboard the ferry to cross Reloncaví Fjord and to berth the Ferry at Caleta Puelche pier, from where we start to go by the sea shore in our vehicle along the Reloncaví Estuary enjoying the landscape where the mountains and the sea shore appear a magical perfection. We will nd Puelo a very beautiful area, formed by a river with the same name and begin at the Argentinian side from Puelo Lake, until its base level ows to Reloncaví Estuary, this is a place you can`t miss, a fabulous landscape full of Native forest, lakes and virgin nature, untouched by the men. Afterwards we continue to Cochamó, a village in a Evergreen forest surrounded by nature, typical of Valdivian Temperate Rain Forest and Coastal mountain range temperate rain forest, and to nish the tour we will go by the Petrohue river side until we arrive to Llanquihue Lake, having a nice view of Osorno and Calbuco volcanoes.

EXCURSION ANCUD, CASTRO Y DALCAHUE (CHILOE)

We begin the tour going to Pargua at the south of Puerto Varas city, here we will aboard a ferry to sail the Chacao Channel, this channel separates the continent of Chiloe Island. During the sailing, we might see sea wolves, pelicans and sea birds natives from this area. The ferry berths at Chacao pier, where we will take the route that will take us to the Ancud city, where we can see the San Antonio Fort; this historic place is located in the highest part of the city, built at the latest part of XVIII Century and is part of one of the last Spanish fortications in our country, the Local Churches Heritage Foundation, the Main Square, and the Central Market, this one offers many gastronomic and crafts options of the island. We continue out trip to Dalcahue, this city is located in front of Quinchao Island and along the coast there is a Market where you will find the traditional gastronomic. This market is special, this construction is named Palato, because it`s built over the water in a base of Wood, with an spectacular view, also to visit the Handcraft Market and walk to visit the local Church that is a typical construction and is a World Heritage Site. Later we continue our trip to Castro, that is the Capital of Chiloé Island, having time for taking pictures at Manuel Montt pala- tos, visit the San Francisco Church in front of the main square and visit the biggest handcraft Market of the island, besides it is the traditional Gamboa viewing point you can take very nice pictures of the worldwide famous palatos.

City Tour Puerto Montt – Puerto Varas

We’ll begin the tour visiting the highest place in Puerto Montt city, where we will see the most beautiful view of the city, the ocean and Tenglo Island.

From there we’ll go to the German Monument located in the Main Square and the Cathedral, enjoying during the visit the German influence in the architecture of the houses, garden and buildings, and the mix of both cultures.

Later we continue going to Angelmó, famous in Chile, because it has many Hand Crafts and Gifts shops, and of course the City Central Market, where we can see how It works one of the principal economic activities, the fishing and sea food, that gets there fresh from the boats to the buyers. Also here we have typical cooking places, basically are restaurants where you can find sea food, fishes and other delicious specialities of the Chilean cuisine.

 

Along the Pan-American road after 18 km we get to the lovely Puerto Varas, also known as The City of the Roses, to see the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus built during the year of 1915 to 1918, Baroque Style it’s an exact replica of a church in Black Forest, Germany, from there came some of the colonizers since 1852, The Old Neighbourhood, after that we will go to the downtown by the shore of the beautiful Llanquihue lake and depending on weather we will see the Osorno Volcano with its ice melting enhance the water level of the Llanquihue lake.

 

History & Nature City Tour

We’ll go to Nueva Braunau village to discover the legacy of the German Settlers, after in Lahuen Ñadi Park, let your senses to encounter with the singing birds, here is altogether a great variety of vegetation, an ever green forest of trees like, Mañío, Coigue, Lenga, Canelo, Tepa and the Native Forest of Alerce to end in Angelmó Market in Puerto Montt, where you’ll be dazzled with the lovely handcraft, seafood and farm products of the area.

Petrohue River Falls

This tour starts going to Vicente Perez Rosales National Park, on a road by the Llanquihue lake shore, enjoying the landscape and magnificent view of the volcanoes Osorno and Calbuco until we get to Petrohue located near by Todos los Santos Lake.

 

There we can take a soft walk surrounded by an ever green forest, the Osorno volcano and the beautiful Turquoise colour of Petrohué River.

 

By paying an entrance fee to the National Park we get to see one of the most beautiful places of the country, “Petrohué River Falls”, a place where the river jumps great masses of lava crystallized immune to erosion for centuries and formed by smaller stones together by a glassy material that highlights the light. You can miss it.

Puyehue

The excursion to Puyehue National Park starts at Pan American south road, that let us to see many villages, green forest, many kinds of animals and typical houses along the road.

 

Entre Lagos is the gateway town to Puyehue National Park, this village was an old hardwood products distributor, from here came out in the train form Osorno City all the production of Puyehue and Rupanco lakes. Now a day, this is the best place to buy some food or snacks or use a phone booth or other services.

 

In this part of the road we see the wonderful countryside, and once inside the National Park we will behold a great variety of flora and fauna, also this park its well known for its hot springs and ski centre at the base of Casablanca Volcano.

 

As an option passengers can buy the day pass to Termas de Aguas Calientes, at both of them there are many activities like enjoy the Hot Springs, that has a healing power, in – outdoor pools; Trekking or adventure activities like canopy, horse – back riding, mountain bike, etc.

Alerce Andino National Park

The tour begins going to the Route of Settlers passing by Alerce village taking the sea side off Puerto Montt, from here we take the Austral Road, when we pass Chamiza village we are close to get to Alerce Andino National Park.

 

This is a beautiful tour, where you can admire mountain chains crossing through the fields worked by the Germans descendents until we get to Alerce Andino National Park; located at the Reloncaví Estuary , a mountain zone in the south side of Chapó Lake.

 

The Park has a surface of 39.255 hectares; here is altogether a great variety of vegetation, an ever green forest of trees like, Mañío, Coigue, Lenga, Canelo, Tepa and the Native Forest of Alerce.

 

Among the abundant fauna here lives the Venado Chileno, Puma and the Pudú, also lives birds like Cóndor, Carpintero Negro, Peuco, Martin Pescador, etc.

 

This is a magical tour in a amazing forest, a place you can miss, for lovers nature and trekking.

 

To lunch it must be brought a Box Lunch (not included) to eat inside the park at the time the tour guide indicates.

Ancud & Puñihuil penguins colonies

We begin the tour in our way to Pargua, here we will aboard a ferry to sail through the Chacao Channel, this channel separates the continent of Chiloe Island. During the navigation we see sea wolves, pelicans and sea birds autochthon in this area.

 

The ferry berths at Chacao pier, here we see the houses that are built with Alerce wood, and the churches that are National Heritage Site, we are going to visit Caulín beach, a place very famous for the oysters an a rich marine fauna until finally gets to Ancud City.

 

In this city we can see the San Antonio Fort; this historic place is located in the highest part of the city, built at the latest part of XVIII Century and is part of one of the last Spanish fortifications in our country, the Local Museum and the Mains Square, and the Central Market, this one offers many gastronomic options of the island.

 

Later we will go to Puñihuil beach; there we get a boat, that will take us to a small island where we find the Magallanes Penguin and Humboldt Penguin, this is the place where this two species make their nests , an during generations they have coexisted together, making this islands the only place in the world where this happen.

 

The tour guide will explain to us the way of life of these birds, the surroundings and the abundance of food that makes possible that these islands become a wild paradise. It’s important to say that Puñihuil was declared National Heritage for its ecological relevance.
