NORTH CIRCUIT – 2 DAYS / 1 NIGHT

Day 1: The trip departs early in the morning following tracks of the famous Train of the Clouds through the colorful Quebrada del Toro spectacular scenic beauty where we see the mutation of nature as we climb up to over 4,000 m.s.n.m. Then we continue trip to Santa Rosa de Tastil to visit the pre-Inca ruins of Tastil where we will walk about half an hour and then continue trip to San Antonio de Los Cobres ( 3,776 m). After lunch in San Antonio de los Cobres , we take the ex National Route 40 to the north and after about an hour reach Salinas Grandes in Jujuy province where we visit the salar . Then we descend the impressive Cuesta de Lipan , reaching the maximum height of the trip: 4,170 meters to lead to Purmamarca,  town of legends and singers, that has a church dedicated to Santa Rosa de Lima dating from 1648. The village has been built Purmamarca the foot of the internationally known “Hill of Seven Colors”.

Day 2: The tour continues visiting Tilcara where the Pucara (ancient Indian fortress), now rebuilt, is a clear demonstration of the splendor of its ancient inhabitants, the Tilcara. To the north, after passing through Huacalera and the Tropic of Capricorn, we reach Uquía, that in his Church treasures one of the most important collections of the famous “Angels Arcabuceros” emblematic examples Cuzco painting. The city of Humahuaca, heart of the Gorge, awaits the visitor full of natural attractions, history and culture. The latter highlights the Monument to the Heroes of Independence and articulated image of San Francisco Solano, which makes its appearance every afternoon in the central square to bless the people. The tour ends in Salta.

City Tour Salta

A tour around the places of greater attractive of the cityand surroundings . The city itself is absolutely charming. Founded in 1582, it still keeps a colonial style architecture, framed by hills. It is the right place to learn about an important part of the country’s culture and past. We can start at the the main square 9 of July You will see historic houses, such as the St Bernard Convent, which is the oldest religious building in Salta, with its door made of carob tree and carved by natives. Quite near it is Saint Francis Church, one of the most beautiful catholic churches in the North: built in 1796, it combines Baroque style with Italian neoclassic ornaments.Moreover the High Mountain Archaeological Museum (MAAM) is one of the obliged sites to visit in Salta. It keeps a really valuable archaeological treasure, witness of the Inca’s presence in the area: the Llullaillaco Children, found at the volcano of the same name at 22,000 f.a.s.l. They had been offered in sacrifice more than 500 years, together with gold, silver and clothes, at the highest Inca sanctuary known so far. Besides, the MAAM proposes an original tour that will convert the visit into an unforgettable memory. While touring, you will reach St Bernard Hill. At its foot, facing the city, the General Güemes monument stands out, carved into stone obtained from the same hill and with the bronze figure of the hero on top of it. You will see the Catholic University, the Vaqueros River, The Castellanos Gorge, Lesser, until you reach the picturesque San Lorenzo Village, a relaxing and appreciated place to enjoy summers in Salta. It is located in the yungas (sort of mountain forest) area, very close to San Lorenzo River, to the northeast of Lerma Valley, where a beautiful landscape and picturesque estancias, together with attractive houses, can be appreciated.
The San Lorenzo Ravin is a place to see, with its high altitude vegetation that is covered with fog during the summer and is typical of the yungas area. On your way back, you will visit the Crafts Market in Salta. Salta has its Handcrafts Market at an old house of the 18th century.

Full day Cafayate

You will start your tour to the Lerma Valley in the morning, going past gorges and the picturesque villages such as Cerrilos, La Merced, Ampascachi, and La Viña, where you will see an attractive establishment called Posta de la Cabra, surrounded by a peaceful environment, and a mountain view with beautiful trees. As you go along, you will reach Alemania, the verge to the Calchaquíes Valleys, where colours multiply in all their nuances throughout this beautiful gorge.
On one side of the road, along Las Conchas River, the wind erosion has built a succession of natural formations such as La Garganta del Diablo (The Devil’s Throat), El Anfiteatro (The Amphitheatre), the huge crack of the hill that constitutes a spectacular rocky scenario,Los Castillos (The Castles), and other fantastic shapes, depending on the imagination and on the different times of the day when sunrays light the mountains of the magic grove.
As you go along, you will get to the union of Santa María and Calchaquí Valleys with Quebrada de las Conchas, with a view to Tres Cruces and Morales Hills. Cafayate rises within this mountain frame, at the foot of San Isidro Hill, bordered by rivers and inside a belt of vineyards. Our trio includes a visit to a winery
In the afternoon, you will return to Salta city.

Quebrada de Humahuaca

In 2003, the Quebrada de Humahuaca was declared by UNESCO as World Heritage Cultural Landscape category.
This tour takes us from Salta through Jujuy Province , to travel and explore the lovely countryside and villages which cover nearly 10,000 years of history. From south to north, the Quebrada de Humahuaca is born in Volcano, where the mountains abruptly drop the green hills and give way to brownish colours .
Without leaving the side of the Rio Grande, above the town of Tumbaya, which has its beautiful church built in 1796.

Salinas Grandes por San Antonio de los Cobres

Early departure to San Antonio de los Cobres following the tracks of the Train to the Clouds crossing the colorful Quebrada del Toro of spectacular scenic beauty where we see the mutation of nature as we gain height, to exceed 4,000 m.s.n.m. Then we continue our journey until we reach Santa Rosa de Tastil where we will make a brief stop, then we will arrive to San Antonio de Los Cobres. After lunch in San Antonio de los Cobres, we take the national route 40 towards the north and after an hour approximately we will arrive at Salinas Grandes in the province of Jujuy where we will visit the salar. Then we descend by the impressive Cuesta de Lipán, arriving at the maximum height of the trip: 4,170 masl to end at Purmamarca. Walking tour through the village and its artisan market. Return to Salta by route 9.

Full day Cachi

Departure of the city by Cerrillos, El Carril, Pulares, La Quebrada de Escoipe is an anteroom for the winding Cuesta del Obispo, reaching its highest point in the Piedra del Molino 3348 masl. This high point represents a gate between two valleys: the Lerma (lower and temperate) and the Calchaquíes (between cords of precordillera, about 1200 meters higher and more arid). Then, continuing along the Straight of Tin Tin, Of a strange perfect construction traced to about 3000 meters of height, in Inca times, and stopping in the National Park Los Cardones and Payogasta, until the typical colonial town of Cachi, on the margins of the Calchaquí River. At 2210 masl at the foot of the Nevado de Cachi. The picturesque village is surrounded by hills and mountains belonging to the Precordillera de Los Andes. It has a colonial style, mixed with what its primitive inhabitants left behind. It has a central square surrounded by cobbled streets and houses with stone bases, adobe walls lined with white lime and sand, wrought iron gratings, cane roofs or cane covered with mud. The excursion visits the Archaeological Museum and parish church. Return to Salta by the same road.

Vuelta a los Valles (2 días)

Day 1
Departure from Salta, through the villages of the Lerma valley. We enter the Quebrada de Escoipe as a prelude to the serpenteante slope of the bishop to its highest point at 3340 masl. Then we continue towards the picturesque village of cachi where we will stop for lunch and visit this beautiful colonial town. After lunch we continue along the national route 40, with final destination Cafayate, passing and enjoying the villages of Seclantas, Molinos, Angastaco, San Carlos and Animana until arriving at Cafayate. Cafayate is characterized for being an area of ??wineries and vineyards besides great indigenous culture. Night in Cafayate.
Day 2
Continue along the Quebrada del Río Las Conchas, winding road of the place and owner of one of the most impressive landscapes with its strange eroded rock formations. Final destination the city of Salta.
